The Leeds United way?

Now to say our season has been inconsistent is an understatement!

1 win in the last 12, with two head coaches in that period, it’s safe to say being a Leeds United fan is never dull even if the football on show is most of the time. It’s a sad state of affairs when in September we looked like promotion candidates to 6 months down the road being a mid table side, but I guess that’s just the Leeds way.

I’m going to try and be positive ahead of tonight because that’s what football and Leeds United are all about, ‘living the dream’. Sadly the dream for us at the minute is where the next 3 points are coming from. With Heckingbottom being in charge of the Whites for just over a month now, are we starting to get a look at what he’s after? The 5 games he’s been in charge now couldn’t sum Leeds’ season up enough… indifferent! On paper picking up 5 points from them run of games isn’t terrible but it isn’t the kind of form needed to be able to push the top 6 and that’s why we are where we are. I have to say it’s quite refreshing having a head coach with a bit of character and who tells you how it is (a typical Yorkshireman), unlike predecessors ‘The Monk bot’ and Christiansen I feel like Heckingbottom gives us something different.

Admittedly the team seems a long way off promotion this season but stranger things have happened in football! Tonight we face the high flying Wolverhampton Wanderers, who themselves could be seen as in abit of a blip, 3 games without a win is not the Wolves we’ve been accustomed to seeing this season and with 2nd and 3rd place winning last night it makes tonight a massive game for them aswell.

Is this a perfect time to play Wolves?

Elland Road under the floodlights is always a special place and the sort of environment you can imagine a team thriving off, regardless of where we are in the league, Leeds away is always a big fixture for any team in this league and tonight will be no exception! Wolves play a great brand of football and shows how far they’ve come this season seeing as being winless in 3 games is seen as a failure.

A win tonight would be massive for Leeds and it could be just what the doctor ordered, beating top of the league on sky would also cut the gap to 6th to 6 points with an easier run of games coming up then the previous 5 on paper anyway. Tonight more than ever we need to get behind the lads and show sky and Wolves what we are be all about, us fans can do that, we showed that against Bristol city a couple of weeks ago and regardless if you’re a Leeds fan or not, if you’ve got 30 odd thousand fans singing marching on together I’m sure that would give anyone a boost.

    It’s the Leeds United way
